New Year New Winnie

2012 had just passed by me, here comes 2013. 

Time passes so freaking fast, I almost got left behind. XD

However, I have had a good new year celebration for this lovely 2013.

Almost everyone talks about the world will end in 2012, hello!!! See.... We are still surviving now in 2013! 

Last year, I went for PD for the sunset during last day of 2011 and went for hiking during the first day of 2012. 

This year, it is another great celebration with colleagues.

At this warmest day - My Xmas

Another Christmas day had just passed. I have had a great and memorable Christmas for this year. 

Firstly, we had this Christmas Day celebration in my company. We prepared Christmas Lunch & gift exchange session. 

The superb HR Team... Very glad to have meet all this gor gor & jie jie in my career life, they are very supportive and sayang me a lot! <3 p="p">

Firstly, with all my secondary school buddies! Awesome night out at Souled Out... It was really an amazing night hanging out with you guys at this warm occasion.

Merry Christmas Day. Walking around the crowd, I can see everyone with their happy smiles on their faces. So awesome and grateful to have this big day in our lives that we get to gather around with the love ones, spending the time together and getting to know each other better. 

Happy or not, life still goes one. Rich or not, life still goes on. Good or not, life still goes on. 

No matter what happen later, tomorrow, next week, few months later or years later, as long we stay positive, stay happy, live with the hope; we will be a great person, a successful person not to others, but to ourselves. 

Love or not love, friends or not friends, we are still human. The trust and understanding between us is the only thing that hold us together. We have the chance to know each other out of millions of people out there, this is what we call faith. Who cares in the future, we will be together or not? Most important is, we stay in each other lives before, creating memories together that produce a great life story among each of us!

Recently, my schedule is superb packed with activities. I went for gym after work, went out for dinner with colleagues, chilling around with friends who came over to KL and most significantly, I went for the orientation as volunteer with PT Foundation today's afternoon.

Thankful for being having this chance to meet with new people from different age level, different career and different background! Really enjoy interacting with them, getting to know more about their lives and their stories. It was such an amazing experience I can say! Although I am still not sure whether I will have the chance to be involved in most of the volunteer jobs or not, I will try my best to be as helpful as I can! The communities need their people to help, care, listen, support and be non-judgemental to them! 

People like drug users, sexual workers, transgenders and those minorities, they are humans whom we have to be respectful as well! Do you think they choose to do so? Yes, you may think like this as the stigmatization and stereotyping among us is just too serious to be reduced. Somehow, life is just to pathetic that they have no choice but to do so. This is a very personal point of view from myself and I am sure everyone has your own thoughts and perspective over this matters. 

However, at the end of the day, what I wish to is just to contribute what I have and what I can to those who need it. Life is not about ourselves only but the interaction with people around. Not only limited to those you know but to those who you will never know too. Being able to contribute by just lending an ear is more than enough!

Life can be very short and there is time that we should sit down and pounder about what we really want for ourselves. When the time I am going to inhale my last breath comes, I would like to see that I manage to brighten up lives surrounding me. What about you?

Meaning of life

Currently reading "Tuesdays with Morrie" by Mitch Albom. 

I believe a lot of you have read this book. It is always not too late to get to know a real good book I can say. 

It is a story about the old lecturer who is facing his death positively with the young student who is going through his life trying to fulfil all the materialistic dreams and goals. They went through 14 classes on every Tuesday. The classes were not typical lesson but classes about life, love, money, culture, fear and anything got to do with ourselves and our lives.

The old man, Morrie had gone through such a meaningful and unique life in his way! Not bothering what others say, just doing what he thinks and feels is right to do.

I remember something he said, "When you have found the meaning in life, you are no longer bother about whether you have money, lots of properties; only those who have not found the meaning, will keep running towards the Goals, Dreams, Material Satisfaction throughout their lives." I believe this is true, a lot of us, we struggling throughout our lives trying to become richer, famous, and trying to gain more happiness. However, is this really what we want in life? Is being super rich help us find meaning in life? Is having big cars, big houses and being on top of everyone help us find meaning in life? I doubt so as this is very much into individual's perspective. One can be very happy and satisfy being a cleaner but one can never feel the happiness or sense of purpose although he is the top performer in the company. 

Nevertheless, the meaning in our lives are pretty much depending on what we want at the end of the day. Some looking for money, some for happiness, some for love, some for health, some for stable career, some for popularity and some do not know what they want throughout their lives.

Yes! Indeed, I am still searching for my meaning in life. Not only me, but I believe a lot of you are still hunting and wandering around looking for the real meaning in your life. 

It does not matter what you are looking for! 

It does not matter what you want to be for the next five, ten, twenty or thirty years!

It does not matter where you want to search for the meaning in your very own life!

It does not matter who you want to be with in the process of searching for meaning in life!

What it really matters is whether you have a purpose, a direction, a right path and right mindset in finding for the meaning!

Morrie's life lessons has gave me a lot of insights. 

Meaning in life is decided, planned, worked through and fulfilled by ourselves. Not Others! 

Maybe I cannot and I am still searching for the meaning of my life tomorrow, next months, one year later or even longer. However, with the faith and belief, with the love and passion, I will realise what I want in my life. So as you, you and you!

"Never too late to search for the meaning in your life as long you never give up half way in the process"

My new life as a working adult

I am no longer a student...

Just started my working life two months ago.

I love my present life, I love what I am doing now, I love my job and I love those I meet.

Of course, life is not always up in the sky, there will be storm and heavy rain too.

But because of these up and down, life is better and more meaningful.

Love life, love yourself and love what you have!

Good Life? Positive Psychology?

I am taking a real newly introduced course - Positive Psychology this semester.
It was introduced by Martin Seligman in year 2000.

Most of the time, when comes to psychology, we have a general idea that it is all about curing mental illness, negative emotions and obstacles in day-to-day life.

HOWEVER,

It is not just about the bad side of human BUT the GOOD one as well.

Through the introduction of this course, I get to know more in depth with WHAT IS POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY.

How to have a good life? What is a good life? Who am I and what is my strength? How to pursue my goals and live a happy life? How happy am I today? Am I really that happy like what I have said?

Positive... I got reflected a bit at the end of the day, somehow, we can just be so peaceful, so calm by accepting what is coming to us.

This afternoon, I was having my first-ever tutorial class with only ME and the tutor. Cant believe I will have this kind of experience for being the one and only student in that particular tutorial.

I can say that it was really a good and maybe I shall say it is the best tutorial I have had. I get to reflect a lots of my thoughts, disclose a lots not like other times.

After the class, I was walking all alone in such a beautiful yet peaceful surroundings.

Life can be just so simple yet contented!

What more to say a GOOD Life??

To have a good life, it is an ongoing process, no destination towards the end.

Happy Merdeka Day

It is 12:56am 31 of August 2011.

Merdeka Merdeka Merdeka....

I was actually sleeping like pig since 9 something yesterday night due to not feeling well. But now I am awake!!

Awaken by ah bengs next door :(

I heard shouting and motor sounds booming outside my house. So I was awaken and peeping through the window checking on what was happening.

Hmmm.... Merdeka? It is a great day for us to be proud of being a Malaysian and we should have celebrate and welcome this day with happy memories right??

But the ah bengs next door seems not... I guess they were planning for a fight!

Omg.... The 古惑仔scene in drama was thought to be happening right in front of me!! Was actually planning to call the police on this raya cum merdeka day for this. However, the fight did not happen right in my eyes. They all went away with some metal thingy and also topless riding motorcycles with led light around and an old Kancil... ==

Sad... No more drama to be seen yet I didnt know what is going to happen...

Hopefully nothing bad had happened....

And PEACE!!!

Peace is something needed around us.

So... What a memorable Merdeka Day for me huh.... ==

Exhibition Day

On the 16 of August, our batch had organised the exhibition on Psychology Contributions in Malaysia.

Our group exhibits on Forensic Psychology.

What exactly is Forensic Psychology?

Crime? Investigation? Deal with criminal?

Yeah...

A clearer explanation of what is Forensic Psychology is the application of psychology knowledge in helping the police to investigate the crime with evidence and witnesses. Besides, Forensic psychologist will have to come across face to face with the criminal, communicate with them to find out why they commit crime, what makes them do so and find ways or treatments to help them.

So, I dont want to be so LOSO..
